Walgreen's Deal

Thanks Shelley for passing this along

Just wanted to let you know about a deal I got today. I used the Stacy's Pita Chips coupon that was in the smart source today (1/24) at Walgreen's. They are 2/$5 and if you buy $20 you get a $10 RR. I bought 8 bags, used 6/$1 coupons and a coupon I received in the mail for a free bag. My total was $12.70, but I got the $10 RR so essentially I got 8 bags for $2.70! I thought you might be interested or want to let others know about it.

  1. I tried doing this deal by buying 2 bags of Tostito Chips, 2 bags of Doritos and 4 Tostito dips. I used 2 of my 55/1 bag of tostito chips and dip coupon. My RR did not print and the cashier told me it was because my total had to be over $20 even after I used the coupons. I then returned everything and added in two gatorades so my total with the coupons deducted was a little over $22.00. My RR still did not print and the cashier then told me it was because I had used coupons. She then just told me "Sorry, I guess we tried".

  2. Are you kidding? That is ridiculous! Which store were you at? I was with a friend who did the exact same promo and had no problems. It is always $20.00 before coupons. I am sorry that you had a bad experience. The only thing is maybe you didn't have the right size of chips or dips? That is the only thing that should have caused a problem.

  3. My transaction with the 8 bags of Stacy's Pita chips was exactly $20 before coupons and it went of without a hitch. The RR printed no problem.

  4. I have had a real problem with Walgreens in the past too. By the time I would have been done. They would have made 400 in money and coupons. They said I had to many coupons (store and mfg.), I can tell you one of the night managers who has a pink rubber bracelet on hates coupons and coupon people. He is a hard case to crack, he acts like we are stealing. He is short. So if he is working I just leave. This is a great deal and I hope to get there before it runs out. There is a rebet from Coors that give 15 and/ or 10 dollars back when you buy chip, dip, with coors. We don't drink, but it could be a money maker and the beer you can use to cook with or give to your father in law.

  5. I was at the Burley location. We double checked everything and I had the right size of product and everything. This isn't the first time this has happened to me at this store and they always tell me it is because I used coupons. I always just tell them that I do this all of the time and it has never been a problem. I don't know what in the world happened with the chip & dip deal, but I walked out of there spending a whole lot more than I had anticipated on. Do you happen to know if there is a number that you can call when there is a problem with the RR??

  6. I do transactions at both Walgreen's in Twin Falls and hardly ever have a problem and if I do they are always very cooperative at fixing it. In fact when I did the chip yesterday, as I pulled up to the register, the checker asked me what the deal of the day was.
